Event Details

Image 7ImagePaula Whyman will be appearing with poet and fiction writer, Rosalind Brackenbury at Books & Books @ The Studios for a in conversation event to discuss Paula's new book, "You May See a Stranger". “You May See a Stranger” is a collection of linked short stories following the life and loves of Miranda Weber from adolescence to middle age. Miranda is sharp-eyed and sometimes self-destructive, but she is also funny, as she hoards duct tape to ward off terrorists and stumbles into a drug run with a crackhead. Critics have called the collection “smart and artful” and “radiant and urgent.” Whyman says she always tries to incorporate humor into her writing. “I think there’s so much that’s difficult in life, if we can’t allow ourselves to laugh at our situation, we’re doomed,” she said in an interview. “On the other hand, if we’re doomed, we may as well be amused.”
